We Will Resist Sack of Ijaws in NNPCL, IYC Tells President Tinubu

By Amos Odhe, Yenagoa Umbrella body of Ijaw youths, the Ijaw Youth Council, has said it is compelled as leaders of the Ijaw nation to issue a press release “due to certain actions deliberately taken against the Ijaws in the Nigerian State by the President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government of Nigeria.” A statement signed by Amb Binebai Yerin Princewill, spokesman of the organisation and made available to journalists, said the “Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, an umbrella body covering all Ijaw Youths in Nigeria and across the world have read on the pages of newspapers and other broadcast outlets in Nigeria weeks ago the purported sack of Ijaw sons and daughters in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited over alleged cooked and manipulated story of retirement. “This forceful retirement of Ijaws in NNPCL is something that we will resist with the last drop of our blood. By Constance Meju (National Point ) Participants at the Gelegel training for farmers on Organic Fertilizer and Pesticide Production As campaigns for smarter agricultural practices with more nature friendly options grow, over 60 smallholder farmers in Gelegele community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, were on Tuesday, April 28, trained on how to produce biofertilizers and biopesticides for use in their farms. The practical step-down agroecology training, which took place in a farm site, was facilitated by Gbolekekro Women Empowerment and Development Organization (GWEDO) in collaboration with the Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF). Not through science or medicine, but through her book.  At the launch of The Origin of Police Women in Nigeria: The Story of the Pioneer Women Officers and My Journey in the Nigeria Police Force, the retired Deputy Commissioner of Police expressed excitement at the thought of her book living on in libraries across the world.
